The Ministry of Works has begun issuing overtime payments to the Quarry workers as of today - Thursday 7th March, 2019.

The delay in payments on Wednesday was as a result of bureaucratic delays but workers including truck drivers have received payments.

The Ministry of Works has been working closely with the Ministry of Finance and the Treasury Department to bring these overtime payments up to date.

Permanent Secretary Mr. Clarence Pilgrim said the Ministry is very mindful of the plight of the workers, particularly those in the quarries thus steps are being taken to ensure that overtime payments are met with some degree of regularity.

According to Pilgrim, payments will be made in stages.

The Ministry of Works applauds the workers at the various plants for their efforts and thank them for their patience and looks forward to a continued good working relationship.
