National Security Minister commends Fire Brigade staff for their work

There has been much speculation surrounding the Fire Brigade being separated from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, but during a ceremony held on Saturday the Minister of National Security the Honorable Steadroy Cutie Benjamin erased all notion of any possibility of such a move.

Minister Benjamin suggested that both entities go hand in hand and should not be separated at any point and while under his leadership both the entities will continue working under one umbrella.

Known for giving kudos where it is due the Minister of National Security did not fall short, while commending and giving high praises to the men and women of the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Brigade during his remarks.

The Fire Brigade award ceremony was at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Saturday April 9th 2016.

Benjamin who was at the time speaking at the Fire Brigade award ceremony stated the level of commitment must be noted as the men and women continue to go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis.

"At any stage of the game, they always bear in mind their motto "Setting the standard for excellence. These officers fight fire, they carry out their duties beyond all expectations, the National Security Minister continued.

Minister Benjamin added that training and the continuous upgrade of skills will be some areas of main interest moving forward, and that soon the department will be the recipient of two brand new state of the art fire engines.
