National Holidays
Official Public Holidays in Antigua and Barbuda are regulated by the The Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2005
- New Years Day - 1st January
- Good Friday - Friday before Easter
- Easter Monday - The second day of castertide
- Labour Day - 1st Monday in May
- Whit Monday - 1st Monday after Whit Sunday
- Carnival Monday - 1st Monday in August
- Carnival Tuesday - 1st first Tuesday in August
- Independence Day - 1st November
- National Prayer day - Second thursday of september
- V.C Bird Day - 9th December
- Christmas Day - 25th December
- Boxing Day - 26th December
New Year’s Day – If the first day of January falls on a Sunday, then the following Monday shall be a public holiday.
Christmas Day and Boxing Day - If Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, then the following Monday shall be a public holiday. If Christmas Day falls on a Sunday,
then the following Monday and Tuesday shall be public holidays.
Note:
- Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday are observed as Common Law Holidays.
- Caribana is a form of carnival celebration in Barbuda that is held every year during the Whit holiday weekend.
