The police were called in at Five Islands Primary School on Monday, after burglars broke into the learning institution.
The discovery was made by the school's cleaner who was the first to report for duty.
It is believed that the thief/thieves may have gained entry into the principal's office sometime over the weekend through the main hall. The door of the office was reportedly ripped off and the space ransacked.
An assessment is being carried out by the Board of Education to determine the extent of the damage before repairs are done, while the principal is seeking to determine if property belonging to school is missing.
Investigations are ongoing.
