The Statistics Division is currently compiling Antigua and Barbuda's 2015 Balance of Payments (BOP) for which we have dispatched forms to various establishments for completion. compliance in this statistical undertaking is of paramount importance in facilitating informed decision-making and policy formulation towards Antigua and Barbuda's economic development. The BOP estimates the size of the country's transactions with the rest of the world and gives an estimate of foreign reserves.
The Statistics Division, in the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry, Sports, Culture and National Festivals is legally mandated by the General Statistics Act, No. 13 of 1975 (the Act) to produce and publish a broad scope of economic and social statistics to satisfy a variety of user needs and statistical purposes. The Act also mandates respondents to provide the Division with information required to produce these statistics. Section 13 (1) of the Act provides for penalties on the Division and its staff for breaches of confidentiality.
The deadline for completion and return of the survey form to the Division is July 4, 2016.
